The Challenger filter is dependable and easy to service! Its advantages include its tough fiberglass tank,
side-mounted multiport valve, and ease of installation and maintenance. There's no need to disconnect plumbing to
access and service internal components!
Keep solids out of your filter so it can do what it's supposed to do - handle solubles, not solids.
The Turbovortex fits between the pond and your pump, catching solids until you backwash - a simple
minute operation about once a week.

The Challenger's unique Hydra-Swirl design allows solids to be spun to the center of the vessel where they stay until the
sludge drain is opened. Through the multiport valve, the pump delivers a thorough backwash and rinse. With the
drain open and the pump running, solids are purged under pressure, fully removing waste in a few seconds. For backwash the
Challenger series utilizes Hydra-Thrust bead agitation, using forced air to agitate the beads and free up trapped debris.

Hydrabead filters
Easy to install, Fluidart's Hydrabead filter is ideal for smaller ponds. The Hydrabead filter first introduced hydraulic
back-wash to bead filters. The pump delivers a thorough backwash and rinse through the multiport valve. The sludge
removal drain at the bottom assures full removal of waste with no dirty discharge to the pond.
Rated at a 5.5 psi drop @ 95 gpm, the Hydrabead produces the lowest head pressure ratings in he industry. They use a smaller
bead than conventional bead filters, providing greater surface area for better biological filtration. The smaller bead
also helps "polish" the water. For maintenance, the Hydrabead filter opens at the middle of the tank, providing easy
access to the internals.
