Larger than water gardens, backyard ponds are ideal if you plan to raise fish. Goldfish are relatively easy to care for,
and you can also keep koi if you are prepared before you build.
Koi get quite large regardless of the size of the pond. We recommend that your koi pond
be at least 1000 gallons in volume, but bigger is definitely better. It also needs to have an area of the
pond at least 3 feet deep, although we recommend 4 to 5 feet.
Since we can't give you all the answers in the space on this page, we strongly recommended that you research koi if you are interested in this type of pond.
